Planned projects
Parc des Récollets
Parc des Récollets will be completely redeveloped thanks to funding from the ERDF, the Walloon Region and the City of Verviers. The project aims to transform 4 hectares of nature into a safe, natural and welcoming public space, with a playground, observation tower and creative areas. Several environmental and community partners are contributing to the project.
Budget: €5.2 million.
Biolley Museum
The former Hôtel de Biolley, a listed building and emblem of the early 19th century, will become a landmark museum for Verviers. This site, linked to the royal family and the wool industry boom, will be completely restored and enhanced with a contemporary extension offering nearly 1,700 m² of exhibition space.
The project combines heritage enhancement with modern architecture. The new wing, mirroring the existing building, will offer vast spaces suitable for collections, temporary exhibitions and educational activities. The museum will also include technical storage areas, a restoration workshop and a reading room, making the site a comprehensive and professional cultural facility.
Finally, the transformation will be accompanied by the redevelopment of Place Sommeleville, allowing the future museum to blend seamlessly into its surroundings and become a key cultural facility, open to all and focused on the city.
The budget is around £17 million.
