A rapidly accelerating private dynamic
In parallel with public investment, the city centre of Verviers is benefiting from a marked return of private investors. Several projects testify to this renewed confidence and the vitality of the market.
Rue du Collège - Gehlen Immo
An urban regeneration project aimed at enhancing the existing heritage environment and developing a high-quality, sustainable living environment in the city centre.
The programme includes housing and numerous complementary functions: around 100 new apartments, local services, medical practices, shops, restaurants and cafés, offices and parking spaces.
An inclusive 91-bed nursery, currently under construction, will reinforce the social dimension of this mixed-use real estate project, actively contributing to the revitalisation of the city of Verviers.
Between Place Verte and Place du Martyr - Noshaq
The Noshaq territorial fund, through its subsidiary Noshaq Immo, aims to develop a high-quality mixed-use urban project within the former Inno site, between the two squares.
The project includes shops on the ground floor, offices and shared spaces, around thirty modular housing units, parking spaces and green, user-friendly interior fittings, in keeping with Verviers' architectural heritage.
Through the development of this project and taking into account other projects currently under development in the surrounding area, Noshaq wishes to contribute to the revitalisation of the centre of Verviers.
Place du Martyr
A large former commercial space, owned by the City and ideally located, is now at the centre of a strategic revitalisation project. Put up for sale, it has attracted considerable interest: three developers have submitted bids, each proposing an ambitious vision for transforming this iconic building.
Among the ideas put forward are a theatre that would boost cultural activity in the city centre, a residential project designed to bring life and residents back to the heart of Verviers, and a third place combining co-working, services and collaborative spaces.
These promising projects testify to the renewed appeal of Place du Martyr and its key role in the transformation of the city centre.
These initiatives confirm the renewed appeal of the city centre and create a ripple effect that the City wishes to actively support and amplify.
Other major private projects
Verviers is attracting new residents and undergoing a transformation: several private projects are boosting the urban dynamic and contributing to the renaissance of the city centre.
Galerie des 2 Places – Place Verte
A residential project that is revitalising a strategic site with 13 new homes, bringing life and appeal to the heart of the shopping district.
Unibox – Place du Martyr
A mixed-use development in the pipeline, with a planning application currently being processed for a brasserie, a reception hall and four homes. A new hub for socialising and entertainment on one of the city's two main squares.
Hotel – Rue du Brou
Permit granted for a 7-room hotel, complete with a brasserie/restaurant and a rooftop terrace. A project that brings a modern tourist offering and enhances an area undergoing rapid change.
Unibox – Rue du Collège
An already approved programme comprising nine apartments and two shops, contributing to the commercial and residential revitalisation of the town centre.
Claessens Project – Biolley
Permit currently being processed for an ambitious 27-unit housing complex. A major investment that is part of the ongoing transformation of the neighbourhood and the former Hôtel de Biolley.
